Our Objectives

ATNHE strives to protect the rights of the members and guide them to discharge their duties without fear or favor by keeping in mind the listed objectives.

Association of Tamil Nadu Highways Engineers or ATNHE, a service association of graduate engineers from TN Highways Department, will constantly watch over the administration to make sure Statutory Rules or Service Rules are strictly adhered to and to do the necessary procedure in a lawful manner to set right the violations, if any made, from the established practices or statutory rules by any authority.

We aim to improve morale of our members and give them confidence.

We also provide them with necessary guidelines and clarifications needed from time to time.

Our list of objectives provides clarity to our members regarding our association

We assist our member in solving issues with the government, grant affiliation to other associations, and establish welfare schemes to our members and ensure spirit of brotherhood among our members.

    • An Engineer shall, by thought, word and deed, act always, in a manner that will enhance the prestige of the noble profession to which he belongs.

    • An Engineer shall constantly remember that he is a creator of the new world and place the needs of his country and people above his own.

    • An Engineer shall hold in high esteem the great pioneers of his profession who have contributed in a large measure towards the welfare of the human race and assiduously endeavour to follow their footsteps.

    • An Engineer shall uphold the great tradition built up by his predecessors and strive to improve upon them.

    • An Engineer shall not misuse his technical knowledge to serve personal or parochial ambitions.

    • An Engineer shall be extraordinarily prudent in spending tax-payer’s money and shall not permit personal considerations to cloud his vision in the discharge of his duties as public servant.

    • An Engineer shall be kind, courteous and considerate, but firm in his dealings with the public and co-workers.

    • An Engineer shall not scoff at the subordinates nor stoop low before his seniors but shall act with dignity and decorum with both.

    • An Engineer shall not speak or act in a manner that will embarrass another member of his profession in the eyes of others.

    • An Engineer shall not believe in rumours of malicious allegations against the member of his profession; nor shall he ever indulge in spreading such rumours and allegations light heartedly.

    • An Engineer shall zealously guard against any encroachment into his fields of activity by domineering administrators.

    • An Engineer shall present clearly the consequences to be expected if his professional judgement is over ruled by a non-professional authority where he is responsible for the professional adequacy of work.

    • An Engineer shall not receive any commission, discount or other indirect profit in connection with any work with which he is entrusted.

    • An Engineer shall endeavour to provide opportunity for the professional development and advancement of Engineers in his employ.
